Securing Your Acquisition
Buying an Instagram page involves transferring digital credentials, which carries inherent security risks if not handled correctly.
1. Never Transact Outside of Escrow
The golden rule of digital asset acquisition: never send money directly via wire, PayPal Friends & Family, or Crypto before receiving the asset. Always use a trusted escrow service like Axcrivo Escrow. The buyer's funds are secured, the seller transfers the credentials, the buyer verifies access, and only then are funds released.
2. Verify Original Email (OG Email)
When buying an Instagram page, securing the Original Email (OG Email) used to create the account is critical. Without it, the seller could potentially recover the account through Instagram support by claiming it was hacked, even months after the sale.
3. The Transfer Process
When taking ownership:
- Change the email to a secure, brand-new email address.
- Change the password immediately.
- Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) using an authenticator app (not SMS).
- Revoke all connected third-party apps and logged-in devices in the security settings.
- Link the account to a Facebook Business Manager you control.
